Announcing Our 2024 Making Waves College Scholarship
Mattis Law, A.P.C. is a family law firm dedicated to serving clients in La Jolla and throughout San Diego. Every day, we help people secure a brighter future by working to protect families and children. To give something back to our community and students across California, we’re offering our $500 Making Waves Scholarship to a deserving student who is working to improve their life by pursuing a four-year college degree.
To apply for the 2024 Mattis Law Making Waves Scholarship, you must be a current California high school student graduating in 2024 who plans on attending a four-year college, a California high school graduate who is currently attending a four-year college, or a California high school graduate who is currently attending a two-year college and plans on transferring to a four-year college.
How To Apply
The deadline to apply is May 22, 2024. If you’re interested, please submit an original essay that answers the prompt below. You can find more details about the contest here. We will announce this year’s finalists on June 5, 2024, and the winner will be announced on June 19, 2024.

Prompt: Here at Mattis Law, A.P.C., we believe that good educational systems are best for society when students have an ambition to learn for themselves. In other words, the name of the college or university on your diploma is not nearly as important as how you apply yourself while pursuing a higher education. As you look forward to the schooling ahead of you, how do you plan to apply yourself in a way that is best for you? What challenges do you foresee, and how do you plan on tackling them?
